Clothing Optional Back to Nature Weekend: Friday 16th - Sunday 18th July 2021

OVERVIEW

Fancy a change of scene, something different and some fresh air in the hills and forests of the beautiful southern Peak District? Then come along to our clothing optional weekend in July! Wear whatever you want, with no pressure or expectation to dress or undress. Clothing optional accommodation, walking routes and evening entertainment in a live music venue have already been organised, with additional clothing optional activities still being discussed with other venues.

Shedding your clothes and going nude has been demonstrated to have many health benefits, and is associated with improved body confidence and mental health. What’s more, simply nudity is completely legal in the UK and the police guidelines advise no action should be taken for passive cases of nudity:

For privacy the exact locations and timings of events are not stated below. Full details will be provided to the guest list.

The event is run at cost, and neither Project PC nor its representatives financially benefit from the event.

This event is for over 18s only.

RULES FOR THE WEEKEND

Please respect the rules below. Anyone breaching the rules will be asked to leave and blacklisted for any future events.

If you are made uncomfortable during the weekend by the actions of another guest then please speak to a Project PC representative.

CLOTHING OPTIONAL, NOT NATURIST

The weekend is clothing optional rather than naturist. Guests are welcome to dress or undress as they feel comfortable and there is no expectation or obligation that anyone should be nude. Do not sexualise yours or other’s nudity.

CONSENT AND CONSIDERATION

Please respect other guests privacy. Don’t pester an individual guest and don’t take photos without asking for consent. It should be clear how much other guests want to interact, so look out for the hints and pick up on the signals. Conscious and sane consent must be sought before entering someone’s physical or mental space, or before any form of touch (e.g. helping someone put on a rucksack).

ACCEPTING

If you can’t contribute positively then please consider whether you need to contribute at all. This should be a supportive and fun weekend so don’t judge or criticise other guests. Give the benefit of the doubt and offer help where you can. Celebrate each other and your bodies.

DISCRETION

Respect privacy unless consent is obtained to share it. Assume other guests wish to remain anonymous unless you have obtained their explicit permission (this includes the sharing of any photos for which you have already sought consent).

COUNTRYSIDE CODE

Respect the environment you’re in. Leave no trace and be considerate of landowners and other users of the space. Be polite and friendly to other people you meet.

THE WALKS

Walks will be led by qualified mountain guides. The walks will be weather and group ability dependent but may include routes such as:

  • A traverse of the Roaches - 8 miles, 450m ascent. Starting in farmland this walk will rise to take in the beautiful ridge line of the Roaches, with it’s sweeping views across Staffordshire, before dropping down into Gradbach Woods and the River Dane.

  • Gradbach Woods - 5 miles, 300m ascent. Following the River Dane as it winds through the valley before ascending through woodland to Lud’s Church and the Hanging Stone. Handily finishes by a pub!

  • Shining Tor - 5 miles, 250m ascent. Climb to the top of Shining Tor and then drop down to skirt Errwood Hall (a worthwhile diversion, but may be best clothed as can be busy with family groups) and return via a pretty valley and hill climb. This should be a quieter option but it is likely several other walking groups will still be met.

Wild swimming opportunities will be available on some of the walks.

Sign-up for the walks will be managed the week before the event.

THE ACCOMMODATION

A local cottage has agreed to host us for the weekend on a clothing optional basis. The cottage belongs to a members club and so it is possible some members will be around over the weekend, and we may offer spare spaces to other groups if we don’t fill the beds (so long as the other groups are comfortable with it being clothing optional for the weekend).

The cottage is basic but cheap, and sits in a remote rural location. The walks and evening entertainment are all within around 30 minutes of the cottage, so car shares will be arranged nearer to the time.

The cottage is self-catering though there is a local pub nearby. Accommodation is bunk/dorm style, though camping is available for those who would prefer more privacy. No linen or duvets are provided, so you'll need to bring your own (the cottage is set-up as an activity bunk house so most guests would normally bring sleeping bags but anything will do!).

If travelling by public transport then please let us know and we will see what we can do to help.

SATURDAY EVENING ENTERTAINMENT

A live music bar will host us on Saturday evening, with a private room available for the group. The line-up for the night is not yet confirmed, but will be a local band (or bands) across a wide range of music genres.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

More details will be communicated as they become available. We are hoping to be able to organise some or all of the following clothing optional events:

• a tour or beer tasting session at a local brewery

• a yoga class

• indoor or outdoor climbing

• an evening meal on Saturday

• a visit to a local sun club

CORONAVIRUS

The event will only be run if permitted by coronavirus rules. Some amendment to the format planned above may be needed to facilitate this. If the event is cancelled by the organisers then all monies paid will be refunded.

Please do not attend if you have experienced any of the main symptoms of coronavirus or have tested positive to coronavirus in the 10 days before the event. Venues are intending to operate at reduced capacity and hand sanitiser will be provided. Guests’ temperature will be taken on arrival.

BOOKING AND COST

The cost for the weekend is £45 per person, or £35 per person if booked before the end of April. This covers two nights accommodation, entry to the live music venue on Saturday night and expenses for the qualified mountain guides who will help lead the walks. Please book here.

All other costs (e.g. food, drink, other activities) will need to met by guests on the weekend. We will help with transport if required.

The event is run at cost, and neither Project PC nor its representatives financially benefit from the event. If the contributions paid are in excess of our costs then any surplus be used as a food/drinks kitty for the weekend.

This is an informal weekend being organised on a ‘friends supporting friends’ basis. The organisers accept no liability and attendees participate at their own risk.
